This privacy policy describes how your personal information is collected, how it is used, how we look after it, how it is shared when you visit or make a purchase from NZ Whiplights and how to correct or change it.
At NZ Whiplights we value and respect your privacy, recognising the trust you place in us. We take all reasonable steps to maintain that trust. Under law, your rights to privacy are also protected. Privacy laws place requirements on us to treat certain information collected as confidential, to store information securely and to allow you access to check and correct your information. We fully comply with the NZ Privacy Act 2020.
As you will be aware, we need to collect personal information about you in order to provide you with goods and services, including your:

- company name (if applicable)
- credit card details
- inquiry or complaint details
- information you provide us through other channels (such as social media)
We collect this personal information to help us to provide, administer, improve and personalise your experience with NZ Whiplights and our products and services. This can also include, providing you with goods or services, processing purchase payments, running competitions and conducting surveys. We refer to this information as “Order Information”.
How do we collect personal information about you?
We collect personal information directly from you when you:
- make a purchase
- create a shopping account
- provide feedback or making an inquiry about a product, service or experience.
- apply for a job
We may need to share your personal information with third parties.
Usually we will only share personal information with your permission or if it is for the purpose it was initially collected. Eg Your name and address will be shared with Postal /Courier services for delivery . When sharing your information we follow the requirements of the Privacy Act 2020.
If we do share personal information with third parties, we will support them to protect it to the same high standard as we do. Third parties include other companies and individuals to assist us with things like payment, point of sale, product issue resolution, customer contact, legal, business consulting, banking, delivery, data analysis, research, website and other services. These companies are not authorised to use your personal information for any other purposes.
We can also release personal information to third parties as instructed by you, and in other ways permitted by the Privacy Act 2020.

NZ Whiplights utilises a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. All customer contact information is protected using suitable security measures and is only accessible by a limited number of employees and service providers who have a need to access it.
We take website and credit card security extremely seriously and always endeavour to provide a secure, safe platform from which to conduct online transactions. We use the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, which encrypts information as it is transmitted over the internet. This encryption scrambles details such as credit card numbers and personal information, so that other computers are unable to decipher the information, ensuring privacy and security.
However, please note that whilst we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard the personal information that you provide to us, no transmission over the internet can ever be guaranteed secure. Consequently, we cannot guarantee the security of any personal information that you transfer over the internet to us.
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. We may use personal information in an anonymised, tokenised or aggregated form, to carry out analysis of our products, services and customer interactions including how our website is used.
PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT ELECTRONICALLY
When you visit the Site, the website automatically collects certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device.
Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information”.
DEVICE INFORMATION
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about 'Device Information' and 'Order Information'.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

- Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
- When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

DATA RETENTION
When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
CHANGES
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
